Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)
A system that stores energy from solar panels in batteries for later use, enhancing energy reliability and efficiency.
Feed-in Tariff (FiT)
The Feed-in Tariffs (FIT) scheme was designed by government to promote the uptake of renewable and low-carbon electricity generation. It is now closed for new applicants, since 2019.
Grid-Connected System
A solar power setup that is connected to the local electricity grid, allowing excess electricity to be exported and shortages to be supplemented by the grid.
Off-Grid System
A solar power system that operates independently from the local electricity grid, often using batteries for energy storage.
Return on investment (ROI)
Return on investment can be listed in two ways. Either monetary ROI, which is the amount of savings required to break even on a system. Or time based, which is how long it will take.
Solar Battery Storage
A system that stores excess electricity generated by solar panels for use when sunlight is not available.
