Project report
Sundridge Park Golf Club is a busy club in Bromley with high daytime electricity use and rising energy costs. The brief was a simple one: bring the club's electricity bill down. Solar suited the site because the demand is there all day, at exactly the times the panels are generating.
The system is spread across several buildings and roof areas facing different directions, which is why we specified SolarEdge. Module level optimisation means one shaded or awkwardly angled panel does not drag down the rest of its string, and module level monitoring gives the club a clear view of how every array is performing. We installed 233 Trina Vertex S+ 500W panels on a mix of K2, VDV and Renusol mounting systems, chosen roof by roof.
The club stayed open throughout, so the work was planned around play and a good deal of it was done outside normal hours to keep disruption to a minimum. The system was commissioned in April 2026 and is forecast to generate around 102,000 kWh a year. It has produced 69.8 MWh in its first six months, with monitoring showing 99% system availability, so it is performing in line with the forecast. Payback is expected at around three and a half years, and the club is now planning a second installation for the driving range in early 2027.
Every year, Sundridge Park Golf Club offsets the carbon equivalent of taking 108 flights to Madrid.
